 Iraq's oldest Christian Monastery destroyed by Isis.

St Elijah's stood on a hill near the northern city of Mosul for 1,400 years.
But analysts said the satellite  images suggested it had been demolished soon after Isis seized the city.

A Catholic priest from Mosul warned that its Christian history was "being barbarically leveled".
"We see it as an attempt to expel us from Iraq, eliminating and finishing our existence in this land," said Father Paul Thabit Habib, who now lives in Kurdish-administered Irbil.

 Stephen Wood of Allsource Analysis told AP that the satellite images published on Wednesday suggested the monastery was destroyed between August and September 2014, two to three months after IS captured Mosul and ordered Christians who had not already fled to leave.

The images showed "that the stone walls have been literally pulverized", Mr Wood said. "Bulldozers, heavy equipment, sledgehammers, possibly explosives turned those stone walls into this field of grey-white dust.

 They destroyed it completely."

Ya know just because these evil fuckers ain't on the front pages all the time. Don't mean they've gone away. 

Dammit the only reason these bastards are still breathing is because of global political bullshit amongst the assorted major powers. They could be crushed like bugs overnight if not for that.

Turns out Russia wants them around for a little longer. Isis is a handy pawn in their ongoing rebuilding of their Empire. Sure they'll bomb the hell out them sometimes...more than we do. 

However nothing overwhelming. 

Our pal Putin is letting them live for a bit longer than we thought. He's not playing chess like we are. He's playing "Monopoly", and he has 'all' the Hotels "Get out of Jail Cards", and most of the money.
