Here's the latest on Ukraine from Dmitry Orlov's blog:
"It appears that the US State Dept. gave $5 billion to Ukrainian neo-Nazis who used some of the money to hire mass murderers who massacred protesters, policemen and bystanders in order to provide a rationale for overthrowing the democratically elected government of Ukraine and installing an anti-Russian puppet government."
Well, the main thing is to avoid starting WWIII. The Feds are blustering but with a little luck hopefully it won't go beyond that.
There are those who feel that Orlov's take is too pro-Russian leaning. But it seems clear that the neocon US "diplomats" and the EU have *not* handled this situation well. As JH Kunstler said, they and Russia used Ukraine as the rope in a tug-o-war, and it broke. Also I get the impression that Putin is a much smarter player than anyone in the western camp at this time.
It really is very sad about those people who got shot to death in Kiev.
