The world's not ending any time soon. For each of us individually it will, of course, at some point. But I'm not a believer in Near-Term (human) Extinction. That's just an excuse for the Poops of Privilege to keep on driving their swanky cars to Walmart and enjoying their cushy upper-middle-class lifestyles without having to give any of that up for the sake of posterity, because we're all going to die soon anyway. See how convenient that is?
