I've found that it's good to have small possessions. Makes packing easy during quick get a ways.Also in times of relative peace you can carry most of your stuff with you so they'll never be lonely.
I know we've mentioned tiny houses here, but isn't this taking it a bit far? Now you'll have to zap yourself with a shrink-o-matic ray like in "Fantastic Voyage" just so you can get on board your camper, when you should be driving about the countryside distributing beer and cigarettes to the kids.
